2:22PM - Sketchdump -- Oct 09
See, shit like this is why I could never get a dime on resale for my textbooks.
It is physically impossible for me to sit in a class with a pencil in my hand, and not doodle constantly. There were some halfway decent things that arose out of that month in the SACVAP class though, so I've gone ahead and pasted them all up together, for records' sake.
I've posted it here on DeviantArt because the size makes it awkward with Journal interface, but there's all sorts of stuffs in there. Including a couple of HP fandoodles (Two Snapes, a Harry, a Pansy, and a Tonks, if you're curious,) along with my normal fodder of elves, faeries, flowers, abstract viney-smokey things, and a monster or two. Oh, and a nekkid boy too.
Feedback is welcome, as always, but please leave it here, not on my DA account, as I don't bother checking anything over there anymore. (They're all doodyheads, is why.)

Okay, so I knew that today was the beginning of the Holiday fest season, but I think I underestimated how far behind I was about to get. Dudes, it's Day ONE and I am already behind! *panics*

2. hd_holidays had started (I think it started last night) and I wanna support it since I have friends in it, but I will need help, folks. Please to be reccing on this one, yeah?

4. daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas looks to be fabulous (oh how I love mah kinky peeps there!), although is it bad that I'm hoping that the fics are on the shorter side? ;)
5. dracoharry100 and slythindor100 both have special Christmas challenges in which I am participating.
6. adventdrabbles! Wheee. The response has already been phenomenal.
7. And I am sure there are other things not listed here that I've forgotten BUT I HAVE YET TO WRITE MY snarry_swap fic, so I can't worry about them ATM! Hence the panic.
Anyway, this is just to say that if I miss something you think I'd like, please let me know.
Also? It appears I am not meant to have an AO3 account. I applied a while back and yet when I checked the status of my application yesterday, it now says they've never heard of me (IIRC, I was number 10 on the list on Friday). Should even I bother reapplying or just take it as a sign that I am not meant to join?

I should never have listened to WG.
I was supposed to go to Seattle September 9th. I had the tickets and it was all set. We were going to go through all our things together and split them up. Take things to Goodwill. I was going to help him move. I was going to take him to his oral surgery appointment. I was going to put together furniture for him in his new apartment. I was going to spend some time with Monte kitty to say goodbye.
He called me and asked me not to come. He'd send me my things.
Why did I trust him?

I just discovered that WG kept both of my stretch velvet cocktail dresses, the deep blue one and the black one.
That's just beyond the pale.
He went through my stuff and just decided what he wanted to keep. Regardless of whose it was.

cold8:12AM - A Rec + Fest Guessing Game
I rec'd this fic last year and I will again because it's my favorite holiday fic bar none. If you haven't read jadzialove's Humbug I must insist that you do sometime between now and the New Year. It's an absolutely perfect take on A Christmas Carol. I'll refund the purchase price if you don't enjoy it. :P
As everyone's mentioned the fests are starting. I have three anon fics out there in the universe-snarry_holidays, daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas, mini_fest over on LJ. I will write a drabble for anyone that guesses any of the three fics which are mine (and I think at least two are so obvious anyone that regularly reads my fic could figure them out). I will put up a true screened guessing post later on but keep this in mind if you are interested in a drabble (likely written in late January).

11:37PM - Sweetheart, I think you should let me hold your grudge for you...
... I might possibly need someone to beat me soundly about the head and shoulders until I manage not to sign up for hds_beltane this year.
Because I am a NaNo Loser, and I don't deserve to subject myself to more deadline shenanigans in the wake of that debacle. Especially with the balance of TF left to write. I'm a loser, baby, so why don'tcha kill me?
In other news, I saw a bald eagle over the Hudson river on Saturday. He was playing in the thermals, and freaking the seagulls out, just a hundred feet or so above the water. He was also stunningly gorgeous, as such birds tend to be.
Contractors. All of them have different notions. So far, the one I trust best hasn't given me a number, but I'm hoping he'll come back in the ballpark, because I would SO like to work with him over any of the others. One of them's blase over the project, but will only say 'we got to do this hourly. However long it takes, that's how much it's gonna be.' which... um... how about "no"? Does "No" work for you? And the other one's rather hysterically ballooning the project to include three more feet of sill plate, and sistering five or six joists. and repointing masonry, and just... geez, man! We already had the city engineer look at it, and he TOLD us what we needed to do, and it wasn't anything like alla that. I just want our guy to come back in the right range. So we can stand a chance at getting this hole plugged up before the snow flies this year. Is that so much to ask, really?
I am also, apparently, vaguely ill. And I do mean that qualifier exactly; this is nothing specific, except for painfully swollen glands in my throat, profound lethargy, eye pain, and a sort of thickish feeling in my eustacian tubes. Luckily, I know where the NyQuil is kept, so with luck, I can sleep this bug off before it gets a solid hold.
I made beef barley soup today. It rocked, and was not even bad for us... aside from the salt content, that is.
And now I'm going to bed.

adventdrabbles first prompt is up!!! For those that haven't played before you can write one drabble a day or pick and choose the prompts you like. You don't even have to use the prompts. It's not just for HP either. Your fics can be true drabbles of 100 words or mini-ficlets. Oh, and I always forget drawbles. I might try to do one or two this year-that's always embarrassing. :P I had a blast last year-I wrote every day plus I did a 14 day series to finish it off. Not sure whether I'll manage that again but I do want to at least write every day.
Fests--santas_lap is already up and running. daily_deviant's Kinky Kristmas, snarry_holidays and mini_fest (this one over on LJ) all begin posting tomorrow. No doubt other fests do too but these are the ones I am participating in! *dances* I will mention mini_fest again because the only requirement was 500 words so there should be some little gems in there; bit sized morsels for when you only have a little time. I'll be trying to rec from all of these and others. Sleep? Who needs it?

working7:46AM - Ugh...Monday
It's Monday morning, and I'm moving slower than molasses in January (somewhere cold, of course; that saying hardly applies in parts of California or Australia).
What I want to do -- what I've wanted to do since I got up -- is crawl back into bed and pull the covers over my head. But work beckons. I have a deadline this week, and my time off pot is down in the negatives.
I'm feeling exceptionally thin-skinned this morning. As if being touched the wrong way will send me off into a bout of I'm not worthy, so it must all be my fault. As if there's bad news hovering at the horizon. As if the other foot belongs to the giant at the top of the beanstalk and it's hanging over my head just waiting for the right moment to drop with a weighty and reverberating thud.
Definitely a day to make sure I have my iPod with me and sit at my desk with the earphones in, ignoring the rest of the world and hoping that it ignores me.
